Darrell and I were married in 1988 and have four sons, 3 daughters-in-law, and 3 precious grandchildren. I felt that I would be involved in missions from a young age as well as when I was training to be a nurse. Then, one day while homeschooling my boys, God spoke and asked us to be His missionaries. We were both in our 50's and served at Bettendorf First Assembly in Iowa for nearly 30 years. In 2015, knowing that God had called us to the mission field, my husband and I both became credentialed as ordained Assemblies of God ministers through our Iowa School of Ministry.
God has called us to minister among Arab unreached people groups. We started in 2017 at a training center in Mali to prepare for working among a specific people group in Africa. After training we lived in our target country where we built redemptive relationships with our neighbors and worked with the local churches, leaders and pastors. In the beginning of fall 2022, we had the privilege of moving to live among the unreached people group in our target country.
About this time last year, we heard God say to us that He wants us to multiply ourselves in our latter years of missions. At the same time, we learned that a missions organization under AGWM was going to start training specialized teams who will bring the Gospel into a very hard to reach regions and/or people groups. We are excited to join this organization to help train these teams in Africa. God has confirmed that He wants us to combine the experience we have from the previous Africa country missions and our background of discipleship in our home church to help launch these new workers successfully into their new host culture. We are excited to disciple and multiply the workers that God is sending and host new teams that are interested in becoming cross cultural workers. All this is for the purpose of planting a church within walking distance of every African. They may be unreached but not unreachable!
